Welcome to the Program!
You have joined the Impact/Velocity Program! Welcome.
Content Gathering
Pre-Production:
During this phase, you can expect to receive a phone call from Customer Service. Customer Service will review the Web Production time line with you, confirm your launch date and will insure that you receive the “My Web Development Guide” documentation.
Customer Service will inform you of what you will need to provide us with to start the production process. Common pre-production requirements include:
- your company logo
- an outline of the section listings for your site
- verbiage to fill the sections
- and any supporting graphics you would like to see displayed on your new site.
Please keep in mind that we are unable to accept any copyrighted information to which you do not have permission to use.
List of Common Types of Digital Files for Production
If you have an existing site and would like to use some of the information from the site, please work with your Customer Service Representative to determine what you would like to use on your new site.
To see some examples of our work, please visit our Featured Sites page.
The Pre-Production phase is a good time to let your Customer Service representative know if you have any special requirements for the site (shopping cart, secured forms, custom functionality) They will work with you to outline your options, and inform you of any additional cost. By starting this process early, you are safeguarding against delays.
Once Customer Service has the required materials, they will send you on to your dedicated Web Designer.
Design Vision
Content received. Project is assigned to your Web Designer:
Your Web Designer will then call you within 2 business days for your 1st Production Call. These calls normally range from 15-20 minutes in length. During your 1st production call, your Web Designer is going to discuss with you in detail about your new website design. This will include your design and color ideas, navigation preferences and references to sites on the web that you favor the style of. Armed with this information, your Web Designer is sure to create a site fitting for you.
For an in depth view of the common components of a website, please view our Anatomy of a Website page.
The 1st Production call is considered successful when the Web Designer is able to gather the following information from you:
- Domain Name Choice
- Email Account Choices
- Design Direction (Look & Feel)
- Navigation Listings (buttons)
- Additional Functionality Requirements
- Review of information submitted to Customer Service for site build
Development
Web Site is now in Production:
Once 1st production information is successfully gathered, Web Designer will begin the creative process. They will create a new site design for you based on your specifications. Once the site design and navigation framework is in place, the Web Designer will then populate the new site with the information you have provided them with. When the Web Designer feels the site is ready for review, he/she will submit the site design to you for review.
A one year of domain name (.com, .net) registration is included with the website. Domain name can either be transferred or a new domain name can be purchased to you.
Please visit our How to Guide page on How to Choose a Domain Name
Once you are able to review the site, you are then able to submit a round of design/content edits or minor additions to the site. Web Designer will then perform the changes and resubmit site to you for approval. Process can be repeated up to 2 times, until you feel satisfied that the site has met your requirements and feel ready to give your Approval for Launch.
Evaluation
Web Site is approved for Launch:
Web Designer receives verbal or written signoff from you that the site is complete, meaning that you are satisfied with the work done and are now ready to move in to monthly/quarterly update system when they need updates. Site is now considered fully “launched”.
Upon approval, your site is submitted to the search engines (Yahoo, MSN, Google), number one keywords and banners are activated and site becomes officially “live” to the outside world.
